Potential Jaguar Habitat in Arizona
2007  Wild Cat News: 1-3

One of the greatest challenges facing the conservation of jaguars is finding a place to start. Jaguars are quite catholic in nature. They can range from South America up through Central America and into the southwestern corner of the United States. They have been documented at elevations from sea level up to 9,000 feet, and they can be found in vegetation types as diverse as upper Sonoran desert to spruce-fir forest. They have been known to feed on 85 different prey species, ranging from sea turtles and peccary to full-grown Brahma cows.
