This document is part of the report on the 'Status and conservation of the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) in Europe 2001'. In addition to the country reports, this part of the report aims at making an assessment of populations. It contains information on the status of the Nordic, Baltic, and Carpathian populations. Distribution maps, population size and population trends are provided. The reports further discuss legal status, hunting and other population losses, threats to the lynx populations, conflicts with humans, and management measures currently in place.
