A Model of Lion Population Dynamics as a Function of Social Behavior

Since lions (_Panthera leo_) have few mammalian enemies, except their own kind, it is clear that their numbers are regulated both by food and social behavior. This chapter describes an attempt to link these factors in the form of a comprehensive lion population model. Our objectives in constructing the model are outlined below.
