Too well restored? The case of the _Megantereon_ skull from Senze
1998 Lethaia (31): 158-160
Megantereon was a very successful and widespread genus of Plio-Pleistocene sabertooth cats and has been found in many fossil sites. Its main area ofdistribution was the Old World, but it may also have been present in North America. In spite of this wide distribution, most finds of Megurirerrori are fragmentary, and the skull and associated skeleton found in the early part of this century in the site of Senze, central France, remains the best specimen of the genus. |
