_The influence of interaction experience on Macedonian hunters and livestock breeders' perceptions of bears, wolves and lynx _The conflictful nature of human-large carnivore relationships introduces questions concerning the origin of negative perceptions linked to these animals and also the link between identification and relational processes. This study, based on ethno-ethological surveys in the Republic of Macedonia, aims to show that the species specific behavioural characteristics of bears, wolves and lynx have an impact on the nature and frequency of their interactions with humans and thereby influence local perceptions of these species.
