Some More on Tiger Tracks | |
1987 Cheetal (28): 1-8 | |
Tiger tracks or pugmarks have been used by field men to identify and sex individual tigers. This is the basis of tiger census technique. Apart from the pugmark itself, the stride and the straddle are additional features, which help to confirm tiger identities. The normal gait of the tiger is another feature, which can be used for the same purpose. The normal gait patterns, approach to interpretation and practical applications are discussed. |
