Central Vietnam Tiger Corridor Project # (2002-0301-030)
2002  Full Book

The connection of core areas of protected forest through a mosaic of non-protected but managed forest and human landscape is essential to the survival of the tiger in Vietnam. In order to do this successfully, communities need to be aware of the tiger and its threats and be taught skills to participate in these conservation efforts; through an innovative approach, a combined agro-forestry/micro-enterprise and environmental education program can offer the skills to communities to change unsustainable and ecologically destructive behaviours and take conservation action. Funding from Save The Tiger Fund was received on 01 October 2002 to undertake activities for one year to contribute to this approach. Funding was provided specifically to achieve four key results. See below for detailed information on the four result areas including a description of the activities, and where appropriate the achievements, successes and challenges, lessons learned, contribution of short term outcomes to long term goals, the evaluation approach, partnerships, and future plans.
