New photographic evidence of the African golden cat _(Profelis aurata _Temminck) at Mainaro, Kibale National Park, Uganda
2010  African Journal of Ecology (48): 541-545

This article reports images of an adult golden cat recorded at the sight of Mainaro, in Kibale National Park, Uganda. From 31 May to 30 June 2008, seven motion-detecting camera traps were placed randomly at the intersections of game trails and primate census transects. Between 2 and 17 June 2008, a digital camera trap recorded a golden cat at the intersection of a primate census transect and a well-traveled game trail. Three pictures of the cat were taken, and the author suggests that they are all of the same animal. The golden cat is the largest cat in Mainaro, as leopards and lions are no longer present.
