Recent progress in using marked individuals to understand animal population biology | |
2004 Manuscript | |
The analysis of data collected from marked individuals has a long history. In this review we describe a number of recent important methodological developments of estimating survival probabilities that have substantial potential to provide further biological insight. The methods covered include both classical and Bayesian approaches, the use of symbolic algebra for determining estimability, and recent innovations in multi-state models and for combining data and including covariates. Applications to a wide range of data sets are described. |
