Most of the information available about the reproduction of Panthera onca comes from animals in captivity or sightings by hunters and little is known about the reproductive behavior of this species in the wild. In this paper, we describe the courtship behavior observed between a pair of jaguars (Panthera onca) on the banks of the Rio Vermelho, in the Pantanal of Brazil. |
