Cheetah population and habitat viability assessment
2009  Full Book

The situation facing Cheetah (_Acinonyx jubatus_) conservation in South Africa is unique - a large portion of the species range occurs outside of protected areas, and private landowners play an essential role in its survival. The fragmented nature of these habitats and the prevalence of small, isolated subpopulations of Cheetah mean that the conservation of the species is best addressed through metapopulation management techniques.
