This workshop on Anti-poaching and Illegal Trade in the Sumatran Tiger and its Products, and the Declaration of the Advocacy Network for Tigers, Rhino and Elephant, is held with the goal of synchronising and coordinating efforts focused on stopping the illegal practices of possession, poaching and trade in Sumatran tigers, rhinoceros and elephant. This workshop represents a priority action of the tiger conservation programme of the Directorate General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (PHKA) in collaboration with The Tiger Foundation/Sumatran Tiger Trust partnership, as outlined in their Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 22 January 2002. |
