In 1997 in the NĀrnberg Zoo all female cheetahs fell ill with Haemobartonella felis after the contact with two male cheetahs coming from another European facility. One animal died, the other two females could be saved, after diagnosis of Haemobartonella felis on stained blood film, by prolonged treatment with Doxycycline. |
