Advances in sensor network for wildlife research
2010  Series

A sensor network is a network of autonomous devices called sensor nodes. Each node has a set of sensors to monitor one or more ambient parameters such as temperature, humidity and solar radiation. When these nodes are deployed in a region, they automatically discover each other's presence and form wireless communication links, through which messages can be relayed from a source (node) through a set of intermediate nodes. These messages are nothing but sensor events containing the measured parameter values.
