High elevation records of ocelots (_Leopardus pardalis_) in Jalisco, Mexico
2011  Mammalia (75): 387-388

The Sierra de Manantl n Biosphere Reserve (SMBR) was established as a protected area in 1987, resulting in more than 20 years of protection, which has increased both vegetation structure and cover. These structural changes in the landscape have improved wildlife populations. One of the occurring species, the ocelot (_Leopardus pardalis_), is associated mainly with tropical vegetation, where 90% of its records have been documented from 900m to 1200m. During a camera trap survey pictures of four different ocelots at elevations between 1934m and 2059m were taken.
