Supplemental care in maternally raised snow leopard (_Panthera uncia_)
1990  Book Chapter

At the Woodland Park Zoological Gardens (WPZG), every attempt is made to allow infants to be raised by their parents. If intervention becomes necessary, infants are re-introduced to parents or conspecifics as soon as possible. When the adults demonstrate parental behaviour, it has been possible to allow the infants to live with the adults while receiving supplemental care from staff members. In this case, a snow leopard (_Panthera uncia_) was provided with supplemental feedings while otherwise being raised by its dam.
