Athelmintic efficacy of pyrantel embonate, flubendazole, and two forms of ivermectin in captive snow leopards (_Panthera uncia_)
1990  Book Chapter

Parasite infestation is common in captive felid species. As part of the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan program, Rosenthal and Ott-Joslin recently produced a Captive Management Survey which confirmed that endoparasites are frequently detected also in this species. However, the survey contains only sporadic notes of doses of anthelmintics, or of the results of the use of these agents. Compared to other feline species, fecal samples from captive snow leopards at the Helsinki Zoo have revealed an exceptionally high prevalence of _Toxocara cati _and _Toxascaris leonina_ eggs. Since 1988, different anthelmintics have been tested to obtain data on their efficacy and duration of effects.
