Turbak, G.
Living on the fringe
1999  National Wildlife: 26-31

Since the 1980s, researchers have studied bobcats in the 75,000-acre Golden Gate recreation area. With nearly 15 million annual visitors, Golden Gate is the second most popular unit in the national park system, yet it is home to a high density of bobcats. At least 20 of the felines occupy the 8 or 9 square miles of the park adjacent to urban development.
