Alternative paths of parental investment regulation in Eurasian lynx
2014  Conference Proceeding

Lynx is the only group of felines who are the family generally tropical and subtropical that has carried out a deep breakthrough in the northern latitudes. Most of the felines live in the stable environment of tropics or subtropics and breed several times a year. Although in a more severe climate breeding is restricted by seasonal changes. Seasonal breeding allow animals to raise offsprings in the most appropriate period. Some species have weak seasonality that is regulated by external factors. Amur tiger (_Pantherea tigris altaica_) suffers harsh seasonal changes, but breeds not seasonally and has no seasonal hormonal changes. Eurasian lynx _(Lynx lynx_) unlike most of the felines is the species strictly seasonal in breeding, which can be seen in its hormonal and reproductive changes.
