Taman Safari Indonesia Bogor Cisarua is one of conservation organizations that carried out animal management based on the principles of ethics and animal welfare which succeed with their Sumatran tiger captivity. The purpose of this research was to study technical aspects of management, care, health, and reproduction of Sumatran tiger in captivity. The results will be expected to provide references and evaluation for management improvement of Sumantran tiger captivity in TSI and other conservation organizations. The methods used in this research were the study of literature, observation, and interviews. The results showed that Sumatran tiger management consist of four main activities which are feeding, housing, health, and reproduction. Management of the Sumatran tiger in TSI is already well indicated from all of the individu are healthy without any signs of stress and illness. Moreover, they can reproduce. |
